You build a draft on nights like this. Khyree Jackson had no business being available in No. 120, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. Reaching for Robinson left real value on the table behind him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a bendy edge with upside, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Edgerrin Cooper in pick No. 50 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Cooper Beebe at No. 53 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Somehow Khyree Jackson was still sitting there in the 120th pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A tidy bit of business in the 161st overall pick, where Mason McCormick graded well above the range. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They let Tykee Smith come to them and pounced at Round 5, Pick 35. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Marist Liufau in pick 172 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
They did well to land Jared Wiley in slot 210, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
