Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cardinals spent the 149th overall pick on Kyle McCord, a name the board had a full 81 spots lower.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. On value alone, Egbuka makes the weekend a net positive.
Job largely done: quarterback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 14th overall pick they get a problem off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A slide stopped in Round 2, Pick 13, with Emeka Egbuka worth more than the price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Earnest Greene III in pick No. 76 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A wild overpay on Jabbar Muhammad in pick 115, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Kyle McCord. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
