Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Broncos spent pick 246 on Jordan Hall, a name most had 90 spots down the list.
The Bell pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Eli Stowers at the Round 2 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A slide stopped in the 65th overall pick, with Jacob Rodriguez worth more than the price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Mikail Kamara at the 108th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Skyler Bell at pick 109 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Demond Claiborne in slot 111 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Travis Burke. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They talked themselves into Fa'alili Fa'amoe at No. 210, and the board did not agree. The roster fit checks out.
Jordan Hall at slot 246 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They reached into another round for Karson Sharar, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Adam Randall. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
