When a board-topper like Jack Kiser slides to the 250th overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Taylor pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 21 they get a bendy edge with upside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Trey Amos at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board fumbled Kaleb Johnson all the way to pick No. 88, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Value with a capital V on Luke Kandra in the 125th overall pick, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
You do not let a linebacker like Smael Mondon Jr. reach slot 159 and blink. They did not. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Roc Taylor at the 199th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Xavier Truss in Round 7, Pick 21 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Taking Jack Kiser in pick 250 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
