Nobody had Roman Hemby this high, and it is not close. The 49ers reached 133 spots to get him at pick 220. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
That Thieneman pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 27 they get an anchor for the offensive line, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Somehow Dillon Thieneman was still sitting there in the Round 2 slot, and they pounced on premier safety value. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Mikail Kamara in the 127th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
