New England Patriots

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Patriots and Revel Jr.: A-.

Call it larceny. Shavon Revel Jr. sat on the board until Round 4, Pick 4, and the Patriots did not need to be asked twice.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Kelvin Banks Jr. and all.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.11 · Pick 11 · Kelvin Banks Jr. · OT · rank 3
In pick 11 they get a blindside protector, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
R3.5 · Pick 69 · Josh Conerly Jr. · OT · rank 45
Josh Conerly Jr. at the 69th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Jalon Walker · LB · rank 24
They barely believed it either: Jalon Walker still on the board at the Round 3 slot. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R4.4 · Pick 105 · Shavon Revel Jr. · CB · rank 28
Circle this one: Shavon Revel Jr. at slot 105 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R5.6 · Pick 143 · Jake Majors · C · rank 93
Jake Majors in the 143rd overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
