You build a draft on nights like this. Lander Barton had no business being available in pick No. 255, and the Chiefs did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 32 they get a double-digit-sack hope at a price that makes it sweeter.
Tate Ratledge at Round 2, Pick 32 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Ashton Jeanty in pick No. 66 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Wyatt Milum in the 96th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taking Tre Harris in the 133rd pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jordan Hancock in pick 168 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A minor need, but a need all the same.
