The phones were a trap the Cardinals kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. It washes out to a C, no better and no worse.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
So much rides on Cameron Williams that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
The board had Cameron Williams higher than the Round 2 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They took Barrett Carter at par in pick No. 78, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
Anthony Belton in pick 114 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Earnest Greene III. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
