Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Falcons came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Baker steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Reaching for Travis left real value on the table behind him.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Jordan Travis at No. 109 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Kris Abrams-Draine is a better player than the Round 4 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor itch, scratched.
A slide stopped in the 145th overall pick, with Kamal Hadden worth more than the price. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
A conviction pick on LaDarius Henderson at the 151st pick that the board grades a round light. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They did well to land Nathan Thomas in slot 178, just ahead of his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Christian Jones went about where he belonged in Round 6, Pick 14. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They will replay Javon Baker at the 201st overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where De'Corian Clark graded well above the range. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They let Omar Speights come to them and pounced at the 213th pick. It fills a real need, too.
Chad Lindberg in pick No. 233 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
