After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The Van Pran pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. With edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on TE-EDGE is the choice that costs them.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

By-the-book stuff, Jayden Daniels at pick No. 7 squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
They paid a round early for Patrick Paul in pick 34, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They took Xavier Legette at par in slot 37, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No edge and no loss on Tyler Guyton in the 38th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Sedrick Van Pran this early at No. 66. The roster fit checks out.
