The rest of the league will want that one back. Tre Harris tumbling to the Commanders in the 236th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. This is how you run a draft, and the A reflects it.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 27th overall pick they get an every-down engine for the run game at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Wyatt Milum at the 79th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jalon Walker in Round 5, Pick 9 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Jihaad Campbell in the Round 6 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
The board fumbled Tre Harris all the way to slot 236, and they scooped it up. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Kyle Kennard in pick No. 246 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
