The rest of the league will want that one back. Nicholas Singleton tumbling to the Patriots in Round 7, Pick 16 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
Every board in the league had Travis lower, and that gap is the story. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 29th overall pick they get a downhill hitter at safety, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A tidy little value on Harold Fannin Jr. in pick No. 38, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A running back of that caliber at Round 2, Pick 13 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tyleik Williams in No. 69. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A reach on Charles Grant in slot 77; the board had better options right there. It fills a real need, too.
They jumped the gun on Jaylin Noel, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Deontae Lawson in pick 143 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
Circle this one: Carson Schwesinger at the Round 6 slot is a fall that decides a draft. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
They paid sticker price for Clay Webb in the 217th overall pick, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Brandon Adams at pick 220 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They will replay Nicholas Singleton at Round 7, Pick 16 for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
Jalen Travis at the 238th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
