Call it larceny. Ted Hurst sat on the board until No. 179, and the Eagles did not need to be asked twice. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. If Jagusah pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.23 · Pick 23 · Avieon Terrell · CB · rank 19
In pick No. 23 they get a potential shutdown corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · Caleb Banks · DE · rank 27
Steal is underselling it; Caleb Banks at Round 2, Pick 22 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Max Klare · TE · rank 58
Max Klare is a better player than slot 68 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.34 · Pick 98 · Charles Jagusah · OG · rank 116
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Charles Jagusah well ahead of where he belonged. The roster fit checks out.
R4.22 · Pick 122 · DeMonte Capehart · DT · rank 135
They paid a round early for DeMonte Capehart in pick 122, more than the board wanted. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.37 · Pick 137 · Jalen Stroman · S · rank 141
Jalen Stroman in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.13 · Pick 151 · Aaron Anderson · WR · rank 155
By-the-book stuff, Aaron Anderson at the 151st pick squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.41 · Pick 179 · Ted Hurst · WR · rank 149
Ted Hurst in the 179th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.22 · Pick 201 · Tristan Leigh · OT · rank 211
A premium they did not need to pay, Tristan Leigh a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
