The Eagles clearly saw something nobody else did in Barryn Sorrell, taking him 134 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.
The Winston Jr. steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The Carter pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at cornerback, wide receiver and other spots.
They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 32 they get a matchup weapon at tight end, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Jalon Walker in the 64th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Sebastian Castro at slot 96 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
They bypassed pressing needs at cornerback, wide receiver and other spots to take Barrett Carter, a linebacker that was not the priority.
Barryn Sorrell in the 162nd pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board fumbled Kevin Winston Jr. all the way to pick 166, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They will replay Jake Majors at the 169th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
