Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles cashed the board's mistake on Farmer: B+.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Joshua Farmer got past him. The Eagles do not have to explain a thing at the Round 5 slot. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.9 · Pick 41 · Jalon Walker · LB · rank 20
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jalon Walker in pick 41, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · Elic Ayomanor · WR · rank 57
Elic Ayomanor at Round 2, Pick 32 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.32 · Pick 96 · Donovan Jackson · OT · rank 86
Donovan Jackson at pick No. 96 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.28 · Pick 129 · Kalel Mullings · RB · rank 115
They read the board right and Kalel Mullings was the payoff at the 129th overall pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R5.10 · Pick 149 · Kyren Lacy · WR · rank 134
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kyren Lacy at slot 149. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.23 · Pick 162 · Joshua Farmer · DT · rank 120
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Joshua Farmer reach No. 162 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R5.27 · Pick 166 · Kobe King · LB · rank 138
Kobe King at the 166th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
R5.30 · Pick 169 · Mello Dotson · CB · rank 140
The board fumbled Mello Dotson all the way to the Round 5 slot, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
