The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. It grades a D+, and the process earned it.
The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Braswell value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
The Eagles clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, cornerback very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Xavier Worthy at the 50th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Nice patience on Chris Braswell, who had no business lasting to the Round 2 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Javon Bullard at No. 60 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Cade Stover at the 97th pick is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Jordan Travis at pick 160 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Anthony Gould at pick No. 170 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They read the board right and Mason McCormick was the payoff at slot 171. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A tidy little value on Nathaniel Watson in pick No. 210, a step better than break-even. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
