The Eagles bet big and early on Storm Duck, 41 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Landing Travis that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. On the needs board they went 7 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a premier pass rusher at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They jumped the gun on Jeremiah Trotter Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Xavier Worthy is a better player than the 57th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Braelon Allen at slot 97 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jaheim Bell at the Round 5 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
A straight-up fair deal on Darius Robinson at No. 157, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Layden Robinson slid further than he should have, and the Round 5 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They barely believed it either: Jordan Travis still on the board at Round 6, Pick 3. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A big swing on Storm Duck at slot 246, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
