The Eagles did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Braelon Allen fell into pick 178.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The cost of the Thomas reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get an island corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. a notch or two before his time. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Kingsley Suamataia at slot 54 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board had Roman Wilson higher than the 97th overall pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Drake Nugent at Round 5, Pick 1 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
