The Eagles torched the value chart for Isaac Rex, taking him 49 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The McConkey steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 22 they get a press-man option on the boundary at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
A slide stopped in the 50th overall pick, with Ladd McConkey worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Value with a capital V on Tyler Guyton in slot 54, a genuine coup. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Beau Brade at No. 97 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A big swing on Austin Booker at Round 5, Pick 1, well ahead of any board in the building. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A straight-up fair deal on Layden Robinson at pick 163, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
Michael Barrett at slot 172 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Frank Gore Jr. in Round 6, Pick 3 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Isaac Rex at pick 243 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
