The Eagles put a flag in the ground for Gabe Hall, 29 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Guyton steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a lockdown presence outside, though they paid up to get him. The biggest hole, addressed.
They let Tyler Guyton come to them and pounced at the 50th overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Edgerrin Cooper in Round 2, Pick 22 is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Jamari Thrash in No. 97 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Braelon Allen in the Round 5 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Austin Booker in the 163rd pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Andru Phillips at pick No. 172 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Gabe Hall in the Round 6 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board had cheaper options than Xavier Thomas at the 243rd pick, and it noticed. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
