The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named safety, a need the Eagles walked right past. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Landing Fisher that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The McMillan reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get an island corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Good price on Edgerrin Cooper in pick No. 53, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Adisa Isaac in slot 61 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Blake Fisher at the 84th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board had cheaper options than Jalen McMillan at the 98th overall pick, and it noticed. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took McKinnley Jackson at par in No. 161, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 172 with a little surplus value in Walter Rouse. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
