The Eagles put a flag in the ground for Jaylen Harrell, 44 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.

On value alone, Cypress II makes the weekend a net positive. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.27 · Pick 27 · Kamren Kinchens · S · rank 25
No drama and no debate, Kamren Kinchens went about where he belonged in the Round 1 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R2.18 · Pick 50 · Tyler Guyton · OT · rank 43
Tyler Guyton in the 50th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R2.27 · Pick 59 · Johnny Wilson · WR · rank 79
Value said wait; Johnny Wilson in pick No. 59 says they were not listening. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R3.34 · Pick 97 · Max Melton · CB · rank 119
Max Melton at No. 97 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.1 · Pick 137 · Tommy Eichenberg · LB · rank 134
A clean, defensible pick in the 137th pick with a little surplus value in Tommy Eichenberg. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R5.20 · Pick 156 · Bryson Nesbit · TE · rank 197
Bryson Nesbit at slot 156 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Jaylen Harrell · DE-EDGE · rank 216
Jaylen Harrell in the 172nd pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Miles Frazier · OG · rank 215
A wild overpay on Miles Frazier in No. 178, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.28 · Pick 248 · Fentrell Cypress II · CB · rank 211
Fentrell Cypress II in pick No. 248 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
