Thirty-one other rooms let Jarrian Jones slide, and the Eagles were the ones holding the card at pick No. 178. Highway robbery. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Jacobs has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 22 they get a bendy edge with upside, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid sticker price for Jackson Powers-Johnson in Round 1, Pick 24, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Malik Washington in slot 97 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tykee Smith at the 160th pick is the proof. The roster fit checks out.
Jaheim Bell at pick 170 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Curtis Jacobs at the Round 5 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Steal is underselling it; Jarrian Jones at No. 178 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
You do not let a running back like Kendall Milton reach the 213th overall pick and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Trevin Wallace in the Round 7 slot. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
