When a board-topper like Cedric Gray slides to pick No. 160, you do not overthink it, and the Eagles did not.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Reaching for Gore Jr. left real value on the table behind him.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Keon Coleman in pick 50. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A quiet steal in slot 53: Payton Wilson for less than the market said. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Kamren Kinchens at No. 97 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Steal is underselling it; Cedric Gray at the 160th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
They jumped the gun on Khristian Boyd, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They barely believed it either: Jarrian Jones still on the board at pick No. 171. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A reach for Frank Gore Jr. in the 210th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
