For all the boxes ticked, the Eagles skipped the loudest one: interior defensive lineman is exactly as bare as it was. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The Eboigbe steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will need Carter to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 22 they get a ballhawk on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
By-the-book stuff, Jermaine Burton at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Graham Barton at slot 54 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Khyree Jackson in Round 3, Pick 34 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Justin Eboigbe at the 137th pick is the proof. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Nothing to complain about; Edefuan Ulofoshio went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Fair-plus on Kitan Oladapo, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They took Michael Barrett at par in pick 178, which is nothing to complain about. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
They liked Ja'Had Carter enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 243. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
