You build a draft on nights like this. Chop Robinson had no business being available in Round 2, Pick 18, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 22 they get a potential shutdown corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Taking Chop Robinson in pick No. 50 is close to grand larceny; an edge rusher that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
T'Vondre Sweat at slot 53 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Steal is underselling it; Ja'Lynn Polk at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Trevor Keegan at the 161st pick is the proof. The roster fit checks out.
Tommy Eichenberg in Round 5, Pick 35 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Tykee Smith slid further than he should have, and pick 172 is lovely value for the safety. A need, and now a little less of one.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Ty'Ron Hopper in the 187th overall pick. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Good price on Erick All in Round 6, Pick 35, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
