Nobody else had Sam Hartman anywhere near pick 210. The Eagles did, by 49 spots, and that gap is the whole story.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No drama and no debate, Adisa Isaac went about where he belonged in pick No. 50. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Cooper Beebe in the 53rd pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A reach for Xavier Legette in the Round 2 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid sticker price for Calen Bullock in pick 79, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Cedric Gray at Round 3, Pick 35 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A minor itch, scratched.
A conviction pick on Isaac Guerendo at the 121st overall pick that the board grades a round light. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Justin Eboigbe in pick No. 136 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Tykee Smith at pick 161 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Sam Hartman at Round 6, Pick 35 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
