The Eagles spent real capital to be 68 picks early on Zion Tupuola-Fetui, and the board is going to hold them to it. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. Getting Ulofoshio where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 22 they get a building block for the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Kamren Kinchens slid further than he should have, and pick 54 is lovely value for the safety. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They paid a round early for Sedrick Van Pran in the 76th pick, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Zion Tupuola-Fetui in slot 97, miles early. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Will Shipley in No. 137 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
A big swing on Taulia Tagovailoa at the Round 5 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A straight-up fair deal on Trey Knox at the 172nd pick, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They barely believed it either: Edefuan Ulofoshio still on the board at pick 178. A minor itch, scratched.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Aaron Lewis. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, McKade Mettauer well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
