Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. It nets out a thoroughly average C.
They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Rouse.
The L'Jarius Sneed pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a true top target. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Payton Wilson. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Zach Frazier in No. 53 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Tykee Smith in slot 161 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Nelson Ceaser at the 171st overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Walter Rouse is a better player than Round 5, Pick 36 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Marist Liufau in pick 173 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Jared Wiley in the 210th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
No drama and no debate, Sam Hartman went about where he belonged in the Round 7 slot. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
