The real work happened on the phones. The Rams fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
Law falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The veteran additions, Lane Johnson chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 26 they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Max Iheanachor in pick 49 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Taking Anthony Hill Jr. in No. 61 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They let Daylen Everette come to them and pounced at the 93rd pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Zane Durant at Round 5, Pick 37 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Matt Gulbin in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Josh Cameron at slot 207 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Somehow Kendrick Law was still sitting there in Round 7, Pick 4, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They took Jaydn Ott at par in pick 232, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
