Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles landed square in the muddy middle: C+.

The Eagles put a flag in the ground for Danny Stutsman, 38 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.

The Carter pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots still on the board. On value alone, Pritchett makes the weekend a net positive.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.32 · Pick 32 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 32
In No. 32 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. Need was not the driver here.
R2.19 · Pick 51 · Barrett Carter · LB · rank 78
A want over a need in pick 51: Barrett Carter adds a linebacker while edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots keeps waiting.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · Danny Stutsman · LB · rank 102
They bypassed pressing needs at edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots to take Danny Stutsman, a linebacker that was not the priority.
R3.34 · Pick 97 · Shilo Sanders · S · rank 115
Shilo Sanders in the 97th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
R5.1 · Pick 137 · Lathan Ransom · S · rank 161
A wild overpay on Lathan Ransom in slot 137, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.11 · Pick 147 · Nehemiah Pritchett · CB · rank 127
Circle this one: Nehemiah Pritchett at Round 5, Pick 11 is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Bryce Foster · C · rank 186
A premium they did not need to pay, Bryce Foster a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Isaiah Adams · OT · rank 198
A big swing on Isaiah Adams at Round 6, Pick 3, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.33 · Pick 253 · Brant Kuithe · TE · rank 268
Brant Kuithe at pick 253 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
