The Eagles put a flag in the ground for Brandon Thomas, 67 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.
However the rest shakes out, Kamara at that price is a win they earned. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
On the needs board they went 7 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get an enforcer at safety. A clean fit for the roster.
A tidy bit of business in No. 50, where T.J. Tampa graded well above the range. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jackson Powers-Johnson in slot 59. It fills a real need, too.
You do not let a wide receiver like Malachi Corley reach Round 3, Pick 34 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Circle this one: Mohamed Kamara at the 137th pick is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Nothing to complain about; Edefuan Ulofoshio went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Jaylan Ford in the 172nd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
No drama and no debate, Trey Knox went about where he belonged in pick 178. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Brandon Thomas at No. 248 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
