When a board-topper like Keionte Scott slides to Round 3, Pick 34, you do not overthink it, and the Eagles did not.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The cost of the Davis reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
So much rides on Zion Young that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 30 they get a premier pass rusher, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Chris Bell at pick 43 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
By-the-book stuff, Treydan Stukes at No. 68 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Keionte Scott in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
J.C. Davis at the 114th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It fills a real need, too.
They liked Nate Boerkircher enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 5, Pick 13. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid a round early for Taylen Green in the 178th overall pick, more than the board wanted. A need, and now a little less of one.
A big swing on Landon Robinson at slot 197, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
TJ Hall at pick 227 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
