The rest of the league will want that one back. Elijah Sarratt tumbling to the Buccaneers in No. 116 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The cost of the Mesidor reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 18th overall pick they get a problem off the edge, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Jacob Rodriguez at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor itch, scratched.
The board had Jake Golday higher than Round 3, Pick 13, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
Somehow Elijah Sarratt was still sitting there in No. 116, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It fills a real need, too.
They did well to land Charles Demmings in pick No. 155, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Good price on Beau Stephens in pick 163, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Aaron Graves at the 195th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Fair-plus on Riley Nowakowski, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
