Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Zion Logue at the Round 7 slot is 53 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Jonathan Greenard deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kingsley Suamataia. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They liked Cooper Beebe enough to skip the value, taking him in the 64th pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nothing to complain about; Cam Hart went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Fair-plus on Cedric Gray, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Luke McCaffrey in pick No. 133 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Dallin Holker at slot 158 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They took Isaac Guerendo at par in Round 5, Pick 36, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
They reached a country mile for Zion Logue at the 236th pick, and the board is aghast. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
