Nobody had Ryan Flournoy this high, and it is not close. The Chiefs reached 30 spots to get him at Round 5, Pick 37.
The Ulofoshio pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
Jordan Morgan at slot 44 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They did well to land Payton Wilson in the 64th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
They took Marshawn Kneeland at par in the 77th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
No drama and no debate, Khyree Jackson went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 32. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A premium they did not need to pay, Mason McCormick a notch or two before his time. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Dylan Laube at pick 159 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Ryan Flournoy in No. 173 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A quiet steal in the Round 7 slot: Edefuan Ulofoshio for less than the market said. It fills a real need, too.
