B-
New England Patriots
Best value of the weekend goes to the Patriots for Skattebo: B-.
by Jon-Luke B ·
2025 NFL Draft
· 11 picks
· 6 steals
· 2 reaches
The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Cam Skattebo, Round 6, Pick 33, roughly 95 picks past where he belonged. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Everette has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback, even if it was a touch early. A real need, handled.
Fair-plus on Isaiah Bond, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Gunnar Helm at the 69th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Taking Jordan James in the 89th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A conviction pick on Daylen Everette at pick No. 105 that the board grades a round light. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Steal is underselling it; Kevin Winston Jr. at slot 126 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Circle this one: Smael Mondon Jr. at pick 143 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Cam Skattebo at Round 6, Pick 33 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Nothing to complain about; Jared Wilson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Value with a capital V on Miles Frazier in the Round 7 slot, a genuine coup. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They robbed the room for Karene Reid here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
