This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Wyatt Milum, the No. 35 name on the board, stolen at pick No. 211.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Travis Hunter slipping to the 12th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Tetairoa McMillan slid further than he should have, and the Round 1 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Steal is underselling it; Ashton Jeanty at pick 44 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They will replay Nick Emmanwori at Round 3, Pick 11 for years; that is how good the value is. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A cornerback of that caliber at slot 76 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They robbed the room for Jalon Walker here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Walter Nolen reach the 118th overall pick and blink. They did not. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Armand Membou at No. 138 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jayden Higgins in No. 139 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They barely believed it either: Devin Neal still on the board at the Round 5 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board fumbled Ashton Gillotte all the way to the 154th pick, and they scooped it up. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Circle this one: Alfred Collins at the 170th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Demetrius Knight Jr. at pick No. 172 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jaxson Dart at Round 5, Pick 35 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
Somehow Savion Williams was still sitting there in pick 190, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Wyatt Milum in slot 211 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Raheim Sanders in the 249th pick, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
