The Bears did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Spencer Fano fell into the 89th pick.

If Gusta pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

The Bears indulged a want in Clark while a need in quarterback stayed open.

In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
