B-
New England Patriots
A passer of the future in Daniels, and a B-, for the Patriots.

2024 NFL Draft

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Reaching for McClellan left real value on the table behind him.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Jordan Morgan in No. 34 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They went early on Ja'Lynn Polk in the 68th pick, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Fair-plus on Brenden Rice, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Christian Jones at slot 137 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They paid up for Jase McClellan at pick No. 180 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jared Wiley at pick 193 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The roster fit checks out.
Sheridan Jones in Round 7, Pick 11 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
