Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jordan Hancock got past him. The Chiefs do not have to explain a thing at Round 7, Pick 32. The bottom line is a respectable B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a ballhawk on the outside. Need was not the driver here.
They robbed the room for Ashton Gillotte here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Tre Harris in the 69th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Ajani Cornelius in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Dani Dennis-Sutton in pick 128 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
T.J. Sanders at No. 160 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A edge rusher of that caliber at slot 193 is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
Jordan Hancock at pick No. 224 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
