The 49ers went off the board in a big way for Nadame Tucker, 39 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.
They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. On value alone, Brailsford makes the weekend a net positive.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 27 they get a long-term starter on the line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Nothing to complain about; Emmanuel McNeil-Warren went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Will Lee III at pick No. 127 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They reached into another round for Nadame Tucker, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy bit of business in Round 4, Pick 38, where Parker Brailsford graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
CJ Daniels at the 139th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
