The rest of the league will want that one back. DJ Giddens tumbling to the Texans in the Round 7 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Lampkin has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Job largely done: running back settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kenneth Grant in pick No. 25. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nothing to complain about; TreVeyon Henderson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Value with a capital V on Jayden Higgins in the 89th pick, a genuine coup. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A wild overpay on Willie Lampkin in the Round 4 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Simeon Barrow Jr. in slot 167 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
DJ Giddens in pick 243 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
