Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Bears, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Warren value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a matchup weapon at tight end at a price that makes it sweeter. Need was not the driver here.
Nic Scourton is a better player than the Round 2 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Nice patience on Omarion Hampton, who had no business lasting to slot 41. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Donovan Jackson at pick 66 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Jonas Sanker in the 139th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
No edge and no loss on Luke Kandra in No. 148; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
