The board owed the Cowboys one, and it paid up: Will Howard, the No. 108 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 5 slot like a gift left on the doorstep. Very little went wrong, and the A is earned.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The Gregory reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.
