This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jake Golday, the No. 59 name on the board, stolen at the 121st pick. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Chris Godwin gives the group a proven body among the projects.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
They let Anthony Hill Jr. come to them and pounced at the 46th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
No edge and no loss on Gennings Dunker in pick No. 47; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Germie Bernard at the 76th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A need, and now a little less of one.
A quiet steal in slot 77: Dontay Corleone for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board fumbled Elijah Sarratt all the way to pick 99, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Good price on Treydan Stukes in the Round 3 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
You do not let an edge rusher like Jake Golday reach Round 4, Pick 21 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Dametrious Crownover in No. 161 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
