They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Trey Moore, 34 picks early at No. 144. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The Lew pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
Good price on Denzel Boston in slot 33, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They went early on Christen Miller in No. 44, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nice patience on Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, who had no business lasting to the 62nd pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick No. 108 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Mason Reiger at pick 127 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A reach for Isaiah World in the Round 4 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Eli Raridon in the 138th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No drama and no debate, Charles Demmings went about where he belonged in the 142nd pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Value said wait; Trey Moore in the Round 5 slot says they were not listening. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
