Whoever sat across the table from the Falcons should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
The veteran additions, Justin Fields chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Jared Verse and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 16 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. A real need, handled.
Taking Ja'Lynn Polk in pick No. 74 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Max Melton in the 109th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Javon Foster in the 134th pick is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kamal Hadden slipping to Round 5, Pick 9 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
They went early on Justin Eboigbe in No. 169, and the value did not follow. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A quiet steal in No. 201: Michael Barrett for less than the market said. The roster fit checks out.
No drama and no debate, Donovan Jennings went about where he belonged in Round 7, Pick 24. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No edge and no loss on Jake Briningstool in slot 253; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
