Nobody else had Myles Hinton anywhere near the 249th overall pick. The Cowboys did, by 140 spots, and that gap is the whole story. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
Landing Henderson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a bell-cow for the offense at a price that makes it sweeter.
Emeka Egbuka in the 44th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Shavon Revel Jr. in pick No. 76, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A linebacker of that caliber at slot 150 is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They talked themselves into Nazir Stackhouse at the 170th overall pick, and the board did not agree. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Dorian Strong at Round 5, Pick 33 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
TreVeyon Henderson in slot 174 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They barely believed it either: Jackson Slater still on the board at Round 6, Pick 12. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Cam Jackson in the 211th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Myles Hinton this early at the 249th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
