The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Colts reached some 322 spots for Shawn Murphy, and value like that does not grow back. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C+.
On value alone, Sadiq makes the weekend a net positive. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The Scott pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback, running back and other spots.
Hit on Tacario Davis and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick-by-Pick
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tacario Davis. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A curious use of the 78th overall pick. Quarterback, running back and other spots needed the pick; a cornerback in Keionte Scott did not.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Shawn Murphy in pick 113, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 16 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board fumbled Germie Bernard all the way to No. 214, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kenyon Sadiq in pick No. 249 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They will replay Logan Jones at the Round 7 slot for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
